Cursillo is 'A movement of the Church providing a method by which Christians are empowered to grow through prayer, study and action and enabled to share God's love with everyone.'

Cursillo is a way for Christians of all traditions to grow in discipleship and fellowship travelling ‘the Way’ of life together, supporting and encouraging each other.

At the core of Cursillo are the small groups which meet together regularly, and the encouraging reunions (Ultreya). Every Cursillista (member of Cursillo) will have attended a ‘short course’ (Cursillo) weekend which enables them to explore their faith.

Cursillo in St Edmundsbury and Ipswich

The Cursillo movement was gifted to St Edmundsbury and Ipswich by Exeter Diocese nearly 25 years ago. Since then over 400 Christians from parishes all over Suffolk have attended the weekends, which are held either at Leiston Abbey or the Belsey Bridge Conference Centre.

Our aims are to contribute to the Diocesan Growing in God strategy, encouraging those around us to grow in depth, and grow in service and vocation,  and our churches to grow in number.
